Textile recycling bins are a simple way to clear out your home of unwanted clothes while saving the environment and supporting charities. Recycling bins are usually located in easily accessible areas such as supermarkets, retail parks, schools and other public areas. Each recycling bank is usually branded with a particular charity’s logo and colour, with information about the kind of textiles that can be donated. Important. Please ensure all items are clean and undamaged.
What happens to clothes from recycling bins/What’s happens next?
After we empty the recycling bins, all items are delivered to our warehouse, where items are hand sorted and graded based on their quality, then separated for specific destinations. Best Quality are offered to local charities, organisations and community groups for resale or upcycling. All good quality clothes are sent to the second-hand shops in Europe where they will be resold to help struggling communities.
The next grade, including school wear and bedding, go to our partners in Africa and Pakistan. These items may be over-washed, have some marks or are slightly damaged.
Based on the amount and quality of the clothes collected from the recycling bin, ECS Textiles can support charities financially. The more we collect, the more we can give!
