The County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundations aim is to provide patients with safe, compassionate and joined up care whenever it is needed, they want to make patients stay in hospital as comfortable as possible and provide care which answers patient’s individual needs / preferences.
The County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation offer a range of services in hospitals, homes and in the community such as, adult services, children services, mental health services and specialist services.
The County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation do research which ranges from small scale observational studies to large scale multinational clinical trials within a wide range of conditions. With this research it means that patients have access to some of the most cutting edge treatments. Each year thousands of patients volunteer to take part in this research and studies. There are research facilities that The County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation use, they use The Centre for Clinical Research and innovation, at this facility they work in collaboration with clinicians and researchers to design and conduct high quality multicentre clinical trials addressing important health questions, this specific unit has the expertise to aid the design and conduct high quality trials.
